Like all non essential retailers, out three shops are now closed. Sadly this means we can’t take your donated items either, so please hold on to them and you can drop them off, or we can collect, when we are open again.
We are regularly checking all our premises for essential health and safety.
Our house clearance service is also on hold for now, but if you’d like to book one post-lockdown, date tbc, then please get in touch.
Meanwhile, our support workers are doing all they can to support companions and other tenants at this time. This includes phone support sessions and some face to face support at a safe distance. Support workers also help to find activities for people to do, and ensure the supply of food and essential cleaning supplies to our houses. Mental health and physical health are much worse for homeless people than the securely homed population, so coronavirus is a particularly scary time for our community.
While our social enterprises are unable to operate we are losing around £5,200 per week. Only a fraction of this loss will be covered by the business-rates linked government grants.
In a further blow, a large grant that had been offered to help us build more homes, has been retracted, due to covid.
Please help us if you can help by making a donation to get us through this difficult time. It is so important that we continue to help people out of homelessness now and in the future.
